Asked to quote for an insurance job where a bath cracked, and plumber had to remove tiles to fit new bath. Walls are skim plaster

To prep and fit appox 40 tiles above a bath. Tiles supplied by client, I am to supply all adhesive, grout, Silicon etc. Its the first 2 rows along all edges of the bath. She also needs bath panel fitting (requires battens on walls), and shower screen fitted also. She wants to salvage as many tiles as possible, so also means cleaning and cutting these, and removing tiles in nearby areas that sound hollow (I think another 20 will pop off!)

Tiles are ceramic 15cm x 15cm. I was planning on tanking the area with Mapegum, as looking at the plaster it is obvious it has leaked in the past.

Not sure if I should hike it slightly as insurance paying out!?!?

Was thinking of quoting £295

She has also asked for price to re-tile whole room (half height tiles).
To remove all tiles, basin and shower, prep and fit I have quoted her £675 (full wall tanking in shower area)

She is 40 seconds walk away from my front door too!!!

What condition is the plaster, moisture can cause severe damage if it's gypsum.

Plaster is solid, and looks pretty sound TBH. Have tiled my own place (only a few properties away from this job) just fine.

I know what you mean......... my shower had leaked for 11 years and then I bought the place. Had to take it all back to brick!!!
