Hi i have a job coming up soon just would.like some advice on weight issues the overall.job is 27m2 one wall.is newly plasterd dusty not shiny finish the issue is thecustomer wants large format tiles obs its 20kg per m2 the wall size is 26x34 roughly 10m2 what is the largest tile size he can go up too? ?also after i have primed the plasterd wall as its leading into a seprate shower cubicle can i tank the plasterd wall also ? ?and is bal white star addy ok for the job or bagged addy if so what one?thanks

If you are going for large format tiles then defo powder adhesive, whitestar is only for a max tile size of 300mm x 300mm.

tile size isn't the issue,,,,tile weight per m2 is what you want to thinking about, as for using tubbed adhesive, hmm not really, you wanna be using a decent bagged addy.

As per Doug, large format tiles need a cement based ( bagged ) adhesive, but tile weight is also a problem in your case, plastered walls = 20 kg m2, inc tile, addy, grout.

Depending how thick the tiles are and what there made of porcelain, stone etc..for your weight issue.

heis going for ceramic tiles i will be using bagged addy for sure and also. riming the walls and tanking just not sure whats the maximum size he can go for due to weight issues ??
