outside tiling

been asked to tile an outside space 26sqm
Going onto a balcony its got a cement base
do you think i can go straight over the top or would you put down some ditra first
I would like to show some pic they sent through my email but i don't no how too (thick)
Any positive information would be greatly received

Don't see why you would need ditra one bit .
I tiled my patio last year, over a concrete base, as long as tiles are frost proof it should be fine.

Just re read it, its a balcony , it will need some kind of waterproofing then, i thought it was just a outside patio , i need to fooking read properly [emoji15]

Not really enough information to make a reasonable call.
Is it one substrate, how long has the base been down, how thick ( the screed not you), what type of tile .....,

I've used Ditra outside a few times , gives peace of mind and a damp proof coarse of course

I did a balcony last spring it was 300m2 used ditra only because it leaked before it was tiled it has now cured the problem.
