On site work today again, two big bathrooms finished so moved down to kitchen area.Had to remove the lazy joiners tools and benches etc then brush floors clean.
Cracks galore on the screeded floor, the rest of house is fine.
I contacted the builder and told him i am not tiling without ditra !!
He arrived to look at it,i had holes bored to check depth of cracks etc.
"can you not just use the flexi adhesive Joe?"
"I will not stand over it if i do so you can,the tiles will crack for sure"
He accepts for me to supply ditra thankfully to protect the nice tiles.
Once we don't accept the liability the builders don't be long talking our talk.

Not sure Jay,this was a flow screed which is very wet going in.
The rest of house is spot on and i'v done plenty of houses for this guy with same floors.
Hopefully the ditra matting will do the job now.

Nice one Joe .
Recently, I advised the builder & architect that slate onto a wet UFH screed should have a decoupler; I was told "in an ideal world, but this aint an ideal world, just tile it". I'm not so sure where we stand even if we get a disclaimer in writing????

There was no way i was going to stand over it John, not worth it.
I told him to think of the price of lifting, relaying new tiles and matting etc when it all cracks! he saw sense then.
