Hi Guys, does anyone have a special technique for tiling round door frames? Like no wooden architraves. With some tiles/stone the outer edge of the architrave could be nearly buried or even below the finished wall level. Cheers, Dan:yes:

Hi m8

If the tiles are a little thick and the arc doesnt look right then take off the arc and nail some strips of door stop underneath. Go to the buildefs yard and pick it yourself with no knots in 1 edge. Cut neatly this will give you extra depth to work with and most people dont even notice.

Yes m8 I tend to grid the tile and then follow the shape of the frame

:yes:Thanks Tiler! Your idea is sound. The piece of doorstop could be set off the edge of the frame 3/16th and then the architrave off set a further 3/16th to make it all appear as architrave. Thanks for the other replies but they are answering about working round the bottom. I've got a Fein but to be on honest for the bottom I would rip off the arc and cut it to length then re-attach. However I understand for professionals time is money and reworking arc would involve further redecorating. Regards, Dan.
