Hi,
because of my strawboard wall, I had to use screws which had coarsed thread for instalation of tile board. I tried to waterproof it by putting some marmox acrylic sealant on it. And now the screws are starting being rusty. What should I do to avoid the later rusty colour in grout. Thanks for your help

change them to stainless steel ones?

The problem is the straw wall on which I installed the boards. Because of this I had to use the screws which I used (with big thread). I used flexible adhesive to stick boards on the wall and then just to make it stable I used the screws(quite lots of them). So the adhesive is solid so I do not want to take the screws out.
Is it going to make the problems?

Paint them with epoxy. This will stop the rust coming through.

I was thinking more along the lines of the rusty screws "shearing" after time Alan:smilewinkgrin:

I was thinking it will just be the heads oxidising thanks to the acrylic primer .....l. Unless there is a much bigger problem. Would have used galvanised screws myself but hey ho...... Valid concern though 🙂

does acrylic primer do that to ordinary screws Alan? i didn't know that, but I do now:thumbsup:

Any epoxy primer will do the job. Merlin coatings do one called barrier coat which is reasonably priced but you could probably pick one up on eBay
