Just wondered who scored and then fingered the tile before nipping or who uses a grinder and if you have dust extraction (if not what do you do when its raining)?
I was thinking around basin etc

Loads of dust sheets, a wet cutter, something like a vitrex 750 pro and a decent pair of nippers ..

Take the toilet out, turn it over and make a cardboard template of bottom, put toilet back in and cut tiles to template.
Easy really.😀

Take the toilet and basin out , is the best and easiest option.
However that wasn't the question the OP asked...
Just saying....🙂

hate cutting around toilets had to do one yesterday in karndean was a herritage victorian type , the client give her credit had cleaned it to an inch of its life with a strong smell of bleach . better than other smells

Because it’s not the right way to do it in my opinion- ie pointless.
the one i did this weekend was old cemented to floor and customer didnt want a new one as matched sink it was a no brainer to skim round and lvt

I wouldn’t be doing a job that required an old toilet to be tiled around.
Hand on heart, been in the game 26 years, ten years of that for a Bathroom company. The WC’s were never tiled around. Not much more I can say. We are talking several hundred WC’s.
