Actually found a very good book on ceramic and stone tiling the complete guide,, by a english tiler with experience of 50 years his name is John Ripley , I find it very informative , describes all the problems that you might come up against in tiling and explains them well. A good read for the novice.

bought this book 3 yrs ago when a was starting out, still go through it now and then,if you read things often enough,it will eventually stick in your head

Of course it is doug, but its good to have some information on pen and paper that you can check up on , instead of going online.Do you not read yourself.

We can't take the forum to bed, lol. so a book would work well too.
Take all the info in guys you can.

Paul, I read absolutely everything from the back of a matchbox to 2000 odd page books, what i'm trying to say is that how much methods and materials have changed in the last 50 years,,,,,and don't forget, this guy just might've been doing it wrong for 50 years ( pva, 6mm ply etc etc etc)

John Ripley, AKA Phil Hobson, I remember writing that book, whats wrong with PVA, 6mm ply, tiling over wall paper etc.:lol::lol:

Sorry doug no harm meant , trying to say do you not read books yourself,, NOT can you read.. taken the wrong way, soz.

You didnt find it a help then phil,,, Cant remember tiling over wallpaper in any of the chapters lol.
