Just wondering what peoples preferences on these were. I have used Ditra, Durabase and Bal matting and just wondered what everyone else prefers/thinks is best.

Hi
I am looking to tile a bathroom floor which is approx. 3m x 3m and is currently just floor boards.
What would be the best option for boarding the floor prior to tiling?
I am in Fife, Scotland and also trying to see if anyone local can supply Hardiebacker etc.
Thanks!

I've always used Slc then ditra on top but I'm on a job and another tiler does it the other way, ditra and then Slc. What's the drawbacks doing it his way as I'd prefer to do it that way as ditra is a pain to tile onto.
Surely it's ok as you can Slc over ditra heat.
Hi I'm going out to price a conservatory floor today. Customer wants electric ufh. Floor is concrete. I was going to lay marmox then wires covered in slc. Is ditra overkill or would you use it? Tiles will be either ceramic or porcelain.
We have to rip out 132 sqm of Porcel-thin fitted 5-6 months ago, many of tiles cracked.Fully bedded the ditra and tiles.Who's fault? Start again with Hardie Backer and 1200 x 600 x 12 mm
started stripping up a 40 m floor today to find it was all on Ditra.
I found it odd as it was a concrete screed with water UFH in..
Is there a quick way to Remove the fleece backing
Thanks Ben
