Hi Peeps
I have a query regarding a wet room. A repeat costumer asked me to look at a job that a builder left unfinished (dont ask). The customer wants Ditra laid on the boarded floor (18mm) but the preformed shower base is flush with the board. Can Ditra be laid on the preformed base or does...
Hey guys,
It's very rare I'm ever asked to do this kind of work, most remedial stuff is done before I arrive, hence the lack of knowledge! :(
I'm having to make good a bathroom floor that is failing.
Only managed to get a small piece up this afternoon just out of sheer curiosity tbh,
the rest...
Had an interesting point come up this week.i was trying to put architect off using anhydrite screed and suggested that I could fix ditra on sand cement screed after approx 5 days. I know you could do earlier. Architect then asked how long you need to leave screed before putting on underfloor...

So, two questions in one I guess! Finished a customers cloakroom 2 weeks ago, got called back last Friday as there was an area of grout that was constantly looking wet :( To cut a long story short I've ended up ripping up the new expensive Quartz and Resin sparkly tiles (I nearly cried!) to...

I am a customer not a tiler!
My architect wants to lay limestone tiles directly on to the screed which is a sand and cement mix with the UFH pipes in it. This is laid on a solid concrete base. The screed has SBR and some fibres in it. My worry is that the limestone tiles with all their natural...

Hi guys, have not got round to tiling the bathroom and kitchen floor and was wondering how high the finished tile height will be once completed? Tiles are 9mm thick and I will be using the Schluter Ditra as recommended.

Secure floor boards and overboard with no more ply
Fix ditra with spf addy
tile
Any advice is always apreciated
Perhaps one for @SchlüterSystems themselves to answer.
When was ditra first made and used?
Is that tiling job still down?
Was it the first of its kind?
And just one for the hell of it - what was your first pets name and the name of your first street? (we get your 'acting' name then don't we...
Morning All.
I have 3 wetrooms on a anhydrite screed coming up and I am initially thinking of the way I plan to spec it.
The usual anhydrite preparation I'm well aware of and I was thinking of installing Ditra so it just laps onto the tray. The customer has decided he wants the 3 floors doing...

Builder has laid u/f heating on insulation boards and then latexed in a small (3sq.m) upstairs en-suite. Would it be OTT to lay Ditra matting before fixing porcelain tiles?
Good evening. Quick question. Can you latex over already laid ditra Matt to get a few bumps and hollows out. I know this is normally done first but unfortunately it's already been laid.
Many thanks.
Good evening. Just want to see what the general feeling is with regards to using ditra mat on new and old screeds. I know it's probably been answered a number of times on the forum. I would always recommend it especially with UFH. I even recommend it on old screeds but is it always necessary or...
Hi all,
I am after a bit of advice after becoming conbfised over many different answers from many different folk.
I have laid over a solid concrete floor battens which are fixed solidly to this floor. In between this there is celotex insulation. Fixed to these battens are grooved baords from...
Hi folks, I am laying 3m2 of 300mm x 500mm ceramic tiles on to a timber floor that I have overlaid with plywood. I have bought some Ditra matting and would just like to know which adhesive i should use to lay the Ditra?
Is it ok to use rapid set flexible floor tile adhesive?
Thanks,Will.
Hi all
Have a anhydrite floor starting next week and normally use ditra which I lay with cement based addy - Would it be possible to lay the ditra with a gypsum based addy instead? Obviously after sanding priming etc
Many thanks
Mike
