    Ditra matting and trowel sizes

Hi. About to lay ditra matting over cement board substrate. The Ditra handbook states use a 6mm x 5mm trowel. I have a 6x6 trowel. Is this likely to cause a problem? Also they state use a thin set mortar..... S2 flexible adhesive should be ok shouldn’t it? Thanks all

When and where to use Ditra Mat

Just a general question of when/where to use Ditra-mat. For example, I believe that it would be used on a bathroom floor which was an extension and had been screened. Would you need to use ditra mat if you was also tiling the floor outside of the bathroom eg, a hallway or kitchen? Any further...

We had tile installed in January of 2018. The installer put Ditra down. The grout stated to crack and come out a few months after installation. Other tiles move. Is this caused by the Ditra? Or some other reason?

    Anybody put Ditra on Hardiebacker?

Morning all, Basically, timber joists, heated in between, customer been advised to use Hardiebacker straight onto joists with Ditra on top. My question is, has anyone done this? I’m thinking the HBB would suck the adhesive dry quicker? Should the board be primed? Thanks in advance,

Ditra direction? Parallel to short or long edge?

i have a room to tile that is 3.1m by 10m and I wonder if there is any problem with running the ditra parallel to the short edge so as to avoid a thin 0.1m strip? The tiles will be porcelain 1200x600 laid 1/4 offset but parallel to the long edge of the room.
