hi there.

im about to buy a good diamond blade from trade tiler. i see 2 different ones on there for a 115mm . one is a pro version (TT-2458) Montolit CG115 PRO-GRES 115 mm Diamond Wheel

and a (TT-2079) Marcrist CK850 115 mm Diamond Wheel (22.2 mm bore)

im a bit confused. there is very little price difference.
which one should i get or someother one if there is one better.

thanks in advance
alan

I've been using the Montolit for a couple of months now and it is brilliant, highly recommended especially for rock hard porcelain.

I've been using a 'glass' blade from topps recently, cuts really well on ceramics and travertine angel gives a really clean cut. No chipping. I think I've knackered it now though cutting mosaics with metal in them. Good value at under 20 quid.

tapatalk on my HTC

Have been using this one lately and can recomend it (TT-2079) Marcrist CK850 115 mm Diamond Wheel (22.2 mm bore)

Will be trying the Montolit after Brian's recomendation tho.

Switched from the marcrist to the montolit.

Both good blades but im going to be sticking with the montolit.

Ohhhh really want one now

Thought that. :drool5:

tbh, theres not a great deal of difference between the 2, Montolit is the better blade though.

I needed a new blade & thought i would try Montolit after using Marcrist for years.

I would wait till you need a new blade before buying for the sake of it.

Cant help myself

Was maybe going to order the Makita grinder in a couple of weeks anyhoo so will wait till then.

The 18v lxt is a great bit of kit if u fancy no cables, made sense for me as I got load of lxt gear so a few batteries
Battery life is pretty short on porcelain but considering the job it's doing it's quite impressive
I use dura blades in mine, good blade, good price £14, good life span, will get a monty next tho

Thanks Mattle I have a Bosch 18v grinder, been thinking about the Dewalt version to as I have loads of Dewalt stuff & the Bosch is getting tired.

My 110v Dewalt packed in a couple of months ago still to replace it, not doing much site work so not been in any great rush.

Just before Christmas the 240v Dewalt packed in halfway through a job:mad2: went to the big DIY shed place and got a £25 number and its actually OK.

Fancy a Flex tho as Sir Ramic has put that Idea back in my head

Yea I love dewalt gear but I find the jobs neater with makita ;-) lol

I dont like taking my best gear in some jobs & I find a surprising amount of cheapo grinders last ages, iv got a £15 draper one that's bin running for about 5 years, it's bin slung all over the place but it gets me by on said jobs 🙂

Never owned anything Makita, fancied a Rubi one but didnt come in 110v 😛rrr:

Tried a panasonic 18v lithium one, liked that.

Gall, i replaced my old dewalt gear for makita 18v lithium 5 piece.

A great bit o kit, far better than the dewalt but it was old nicad? batteries.

a bit of an update.
i bought the montolite blade. it cuts like butter compared the the cheap one ive been using. perfect finish.
great purchase. cant wait to use it in anger

Always used Marcrist 110mm blades, brilliant blades but just started using new montolit blade on advise from trade tiler, this is even better, worth paying extra for eitherof these blades over cheaper versions, especially for porcelain.
