Chaps, had a bit of a do with a customer the other day...
Ended up getting the job but he was tring to beat me down on price. He had apparently got a few other prices prior to mine.
60 SQ M of slate floor - 600 x 300, brick bond, six adjoining rooms and 3 steps -I quoted him £30.00 per metre plus materials, came to about £2100.
He tryed to say that he had been told this should cost around £1500 all in. --- For gods sake that works out at £25.00 per metre including adhesive, grout and sealer. Told him to go for the cheapest price if he wanted and I wasn't intersested in matching it. He ended up phoning me back - we eventually agreed on £2000 cash, no receipt./
Surely £30 per metre plus materials is at least the going rate ? Have charged more myself in the past ???
