TO lay this limestone on to screed with thin-set , seal and grout price per m2 labour only please as all material are supplied ,the slabs are 900 x600x 25mm .

OR if you like to fix the wet-method you screed as you go so you would add screeding to this price ! please say if you mean this method as it will be dearer thanks guys

PS as most know i fix mainly mosaic and therefore not -up to date with currant prices for fixing stone cheers

I was thinking about £12.OO M2 for screed & £ 30 m2 for the limestone & seal ..........:hurray:

I'd go £35/£40 a mt for the tiling inc sealing - back breaking slabs ain't they and you can always come down in price if too high for client. Not sure on the screeding. I'd probably try to work out a price for the job I was happy with. I hate doing stuff like that on a mt price. How bigs the area?

About 200m2 stone !yes i know what you mean, but he is after a price ! and the weather is unsettled .

I spose at 200 mts you can afford to nick some money off him on the tiling and then swallow abit on the screeding. £10/£12 a mt if your happy and it gets you the job.
As for the weather, 200mts has got to be a good couple of weeks work so your bound to get a bit of everything in that time aint you

Why do people come on here and ask for prices for work they have no idea of how to do! This sort of thread is embarrassing for our industry and next you'll be fixing tiles for Rock superstars and telling us he wants you to be a roadie at one of his gigs - stock to your day job and forget about this daydream stuff!

LOL @ John 🙂 m2 would be £35 / £45 but on that size I could be very flexible depending on how many cuts.

Did you swap the coffee for lager

But yes I agree.

And what makes you think i have no idea how to do ?? it's the going rate i 'am not sure of ,

Dave..DPF.. i and others know you fully know what one is doing and that IMO i think the thread was a conversation starter but as TJ i think one should know what you want for doing it... so my input is .. do it on day rate.

Thanks Dave ,i did put it in the arms so only tilers can read, i of course know what i'am doing ! , i suppose i like to hear others points of view ,i would hate to give the work away by being to cheap, but i like to feel that i'am not being outrageously over priced ,i can't see why tilers cannot discuss prices behind closed doors , as i believe standard rates are a good pointer , if it has hit a raw-nerve with john then he don't have to post, or he could PM me and say what his problem is , it's not on public view , whats it got to do with rock-stars LOL, bit of the green-eyed monster me thinks love -it JOHNNY JAVA.......

lol dave... i tend not to post in the pricing side as it varies so much from county to county up and down the uk..... but all i can say mate is i would do it on day rate as it can be bespoke work.. as you know..

Dave (dpf) as a friend it was meant to be a tounge in cheek reply to some of the novice threads but has obviously lost its humour in translation! I have no problems with an artisan professional tradesman who specialises as you do in tiling and would have great pleasure in labouring for you on a future superstar contract.
May have to put a bit more explanation into my posts or cut down and just say hello to new members.

TJ .. where would TF be without did he really say that type posts  ..

Ok.. i have said this so so many times and i have been pulled for it as well .. what one types on a forum is not what one intends to portray in said post.. it is what the said reader see's and takes the said words to mean... 🙂

But yet again.. i have meant what i typed to mean just that.. so work that one out

OK John, i'am very sorry for mis- reading your humour mate you would have thought i would get it by now ,the length of time we have been in each others company on this forum , i couldn't understand what i had done to upset-you ,the last thing i would want to do to a tradesman of your superior standing so please accept my apology for my reply to you .
PS i'am the youngster so i would be the one labouring for you John :hurray:

Would I be correct or incorrect in saying that what you're actually saying is what you meant but not actually typed?

Or am I incorrect in thinking what you typed is not what you said, but what you thought and then typed it before you actually said it?

Now I've confused myself!!

Confucius says one should not be confused by what one says but be confused by what one said and if one is confused then confusion is not confused with confucius.

And what makes you think i have no idea how to do ?? it's the going rate i 'am not sure of ,
me neither at the moment, recently priced 2 floors, each 60m2 and as they were both less than 5 mins drive away I priced competitively,,,never even got the courtesy of a phone call back :mad2:

Not sure liking that post was the right thing to have done Doug ,from my part because i do like to hear that other guys -on this forum get the jobs because we are all doing this for a living, and that is very important to all of our family s, i don't even price the work my mrs DPF does and sometimes like you Doug we don't get the job, so it is a very important part of being self-employed we have to base our prices on some sort of reality, and national rates are a good place to start ,then if you are in a wealthy area /or poor area you can go either way from there up /down , good luck with the next jobs mate 🙂

the thing is Dave, I thought they were both in the bag,,,so didn't book anything else in for 3 weeks. That'll teach me.

I'am sure there is such a thing as a going rate but there are so many variables as Doug pointed - distance for one!
If you work for someone you get the going rate and that's what I get from the honorary member from Reigate. But when I'am local my own work is significantly more rewarding.
Even this thread is different as work has already been done for the customer and so a stronger position should be held.
So when pricing I always think how long it will take and translate that into a meterage rate - its what it's worth to me not what someone else wants for doing it!
