Can you only use Rapid set adhesive that is designed for porcelain on floor tiles? Or is there a brand of standard set adhesive that's designed for porcelain floor tiles?

bal gold star can be used on porcelain, pot life of 5 hrs and grout after 16 hrs,

better re morgage your house to buy some though

Any polymer modified adhesive is suitable for porcelain... as in flexible etc..

Most if not all rapid sets and standard sets have a small amount of polymers for adhering to said tiles.

Mapei, Adesilex P9, Adesilex P10, Keraflex, Keraflex Maxi

All pot life 8 hours, grout after 24 hours

Thats what i thought as i was having a disagreement with a sales guy in a tile shop today he kept saying you can only use rapid set...then his colleague said you can use Bal CTF normal set for porcelain...ok i will take some of that. This was a tile shop i have not used before as this was a rush job that had come in late this afternoon i didn't have time to go to m normal supplier...Got six bags loaded up in the van...had a quick look at the back of the bag, and what does it say NOT FOR USE WITH PORCELAIN :yikes: I went back in and said you cant use this with porcelain tiles ' That will be OK we sell loads of this adhesive to people who have bought Porcalain tiles!!! I unloaded my van and left...Poor customers :incazzato:

I use BAL single part flex. It has porcel bond, a flex additive and a pot life of 5 hrs. Never yet managed to remove a porcelain tile when stuck to hardibacker with this stuff. Usually costs about 20 a bag for grey in 20kg. :hurray:

you must be well off to still be using that, good gear just very pricey

I thought porcelain needed polymer enhanced adhesives (AA) I just stick, (excuse the pun) to mapei Keraquck. Works for me.

Porcel bond... it is just polymers.. nothing magic..

I always use flexi for porcelain, sometimes rapid and sometimes standard set, depends on the size of the job.

i often still use an admix instead of spf also use it in sand & cement when i use it for grout
