Hello guys start a floor job with porcelain tiles next week, the floor at the moment is layed with the chip board tongue and groove boards what type of plyboard thickness you think i should use.

Also does anyone know where i can find a decent cutting blade for angle grinder for cutting porcelain CHEERS.

How much deflection in the floor is there?
Is it solid?
Will the porcelain not cut with a Rubi?

I Would probably go with no more ply over wood ply. Or replace the chipboard with 18mm or 22mm structural ply, depending on your joist width.

I would persume the chip board is on the joists,I would say the floor is solid enough.

Could be solid, but if the chipboard has seen the slightest bit of moisture in the past it won't be.
Chipboard is a very versatile material, but really really doesn't handle moisture.
If you have a selco near you, 18mm ply is on offer at the mo. Back in august, they were almost giving it away!

Magnet are always keen on sheet timber, they usually carry ply upto 18mm, sterling board, and mdf. They stock aquapanel and lafarge plaster boards at superb prices. Some of them stock bondit addy too. The white flexi is silly cheap but slow set only. The rapid set however is super duper rapid sometimes!

Rodders - I think you will have to check the sub floor to see if it is on joists or is a floating floor!
If it is on joists - secure - and no movement -you can overboard it with anything from BS minimum thickness plywood to 6mm hardie backer boards.
