Hi after doing a short tiling course I'm going to tile my kitchen splash back for some practice and to gain a bit of experience, at my own pace so I can get it as good as I can.
I've started taking off the old tiles (which put up very little resistance ) I'll scrape off the little amount of adhesive that is left on the wall and also it looks like it was previously tiled on to painted plaster so I'll scrape the bits of paint off. The area I have done so far shows that the plastered wall underneath is pristine and as smooth as you like. What is best to prime the wall prior to tiling? SBR?

If the plaster is as smooth as you say, might be worth giving it a rub over with some sandpaper prior to priming.
