Here's a few pics of a kitchen splashback I did this week.

It was pretty simple in essence but the wall prep was quite demanding and it had to be cut out and re-sheeted before I could even get a tile laid.

I was very happy with the final product and so too was the client

HAPPY DAYS!!!!!:hurray:

Hi Turkish,

Yeah had to cut the old plastboard out where the sparky's had butchered it fitting power points then sheet over the top with 4.5mm hardie sheet to give a nice flat true finish to tile upon.

Just replacing the plaster still gave me alot of unevenness not good for mosaic work hence sheeting over with hardie's.

Cheers for that Mick, do you mind telling me how you fixed the hard sheet to the wall? not something i`ve done yet, is it stuck using tile adhesive or dry wall adhesive?

Turkish

Looks well

For some reason I ain't done a mosaic for ages now, either plain white boring bathroom tiles, B&Q floor tiles and rustic wavey edged splashback tiles.

I used tile adhesive, but you could use dry wall. Then i found the studs and nailed it as well.

Nice job how long did it take you to do altogether?

8hrs of work time over a 2 day period. 1st day prep and fix. 2nd day grout polish and Silicon.

I hardly ever fix and grout in the same day always let dry overnite 95% of the time.

cost $600 au Incl GST labour and materials.
