When i was an apprentice in 1998 i got 60 a week of which a tenner was taken out to pay for my tools. Second year it went up to 70, and 3rd year i got £5 pound a metre

I started a plumbing apprentiship in 71 and was earning a fiver a week then had NI taken off which left me with £4.43p.

Ha ha....'95 had £30 a week training credit when I was 16 paid every thursday.

So skint I was on a Wednesday I used to roll my own cigs from dockers off the floor!
