hi there.

iv got a bathroom to do in a few weeks time to do . im doing the woodworking and general knocking etc as well. i knocked down a block wall ( non load bearing) up to the ceiling level (had to go the whole way up as there was nothing hold ing them) im putting a stud wall back in to carry the door and block off the bit above the door.

i was planing on using 1/2 " wbp ply or some kind of cement board(slab or hardibacker etc). i cant go any thicker as the other side wont allow any more.
what would you reconmend.

also where the two meet there is going to be expansion rate diferences etc. what is the best way to tile over this area.
is there a membrane that would tie the two parts together so the tiles wont crack.

thanks in advance

why not just use plasterboard or aquapanel if it's in the wet area? if you're worried about expansion there will be more in the ply

Pop down to Topp tiles and get a m2 of the fleece tanking material and fix with powdered adhesive over the joint....
