I have sealed (first coat) and grouted my travertine mosaic floor tiles and travertine wall tiles and was wondering how long should I wait before using the shower.
The instructions on the BAL grout states it should not be used for 14 days, this seems excessive?
Also how long should I wait to apply the second sealant coat?

Regards

Mark

The sealant I used was FILA Honed/Tumbled Travertine & Marble, I am happy with times between sealant coats as it says on the back of the container that the second coat best applied within 4 hours of the first being applied but i have to wait for the grout to dry first.

The advice I was after was how long should I wait for the grout to dry before adding the second sealant coat?

And how long should I wait for the grout to dry before using the shower?

Thanks

Mark

You should wait 14 days before you run the shower as stated. The 14 days for the grout is to allow it to fully cure before being used so it can perform properly. Dependent on sealer used, you'll be more than fine waiting 24 hrs after grouting and between coats.
