Agree with James on this 1 Russ. Was like spreading chewing gum. Wasn't that keen on it. Just try it on a small floor 1st as u know every1's choice of what mats they like differs. Have been using Mapei D1 (walls) for a while now but got a free tub of Sontex outta CTW thats just opened here and i'm gonna switch to that as i loved it m8.

Again, thinking back to the 2 floors I did with Fastflex, the first I used a 10mm notch trowel and it went everywhere and the second floor I dropped to a 6mm notch and it was better, both laying 300x300 tiles. I subsequently found out that BAL do the good old extended tipped thin bed/solid bed trowel especially for Fastflex so maybe that was where my problems arose.

Thanks for you input guys. I have a small floor coming up and I might just try it. I have used Fastflex a couple of times James, albeit quite early on in my career, and I really didn't like using it. It is also very expensive. Also trying to convince customers that 18mm ply really is the way to go is very, very difficult at times, which precludes using any BAL product other than Fastflex.

Yes Dave, hopefully CTD will get their finger out and open up in Inverness, sooner rather than later. I could do with a bit of choice!!

Where about in Inverness they thinking of going Grumpy???
