Looking for some advice on paving my driveway.

I'm in Australia, so no freezing issues.

I have jack hammered off the existing brick paving and mortar back to the slab. Slab is 100mm thick and in pretty good condition (a few hairline cracks <1mm) and all the falls work well.

I want to lay new paving most likely granite about 600x600x20. Existing paving was bricks, 50mm thick on about 20mm mud. The garage slab and the street crossover heights both need to me met.

Is it better to lay a screed and use tile adhesive to stick the stone down or lay them directly on sand and cement?

If I take the screed route, are there additives I should be using in the screed and what prep is required for the slab?

Thanks

I know that in Oz there are various regulations with regards to tiling so my advice would be to consult a local pro or maybe a forum member down under could assist?
