Hello all, I posted a question about using Mapei epoxy grout on a large floor about a month ago and got loads of help back (Thank you all). I tiled the floor last week but have to go back to grout next week as the grout is on order. They are 400 x 400 unglazed porcelain (black). Do you think it would be a good idea to tape up the tiles only leaving the edges before I grout? Im just thinking about trying to wash out epoxy grout from all the pits in the face of the tiles without it setting off on me.

Use a temp sealer on the surface of the tiles.....Aqua mix sealers are suited for this purpose but make sure you follow the directions for usage as a temp sealer..

Brilliant! Is there one you would recommend? Il be going into tile giant so could you tell me what to ask for please?

You won't buy Aqua Mix in Tile Giant. The one suited to that job IMO would be Aqua Mix Floor Shine and Hardener it will fill the pits and fissures up for you in the porcelain. You still need to follow the application instructions and apply with a paint pad carefully and avoid getting it in the joints. It will be a lot quicker than taping up and you will have a 100% protection. You can buy it on line off E Bay the cheapest or Dave at Trade Tiler on here may have it

As Terry said we don't sell Aqua Mix products. We sell LTP and they do a topical sealer that would suit your unglazed tiles, but it is not what I would consider a "temp" sealer. It is called LTP Glaze Protector if you do want to look into the product.

Yay!!! The large floor that had to be grouted in Epoxy is finished and Im well happy with the results. The customers are over the moon with the work and gave a £200 tip. Many thanks to every1 who gave advise.:hurray:
