I was wondering how all of you were finding business at present after the festivities?Ihope you are all getting a turn and not sitting about waiting for the phone to ring. From my point of view i have been busy so far and have work for the whole of January so long may it continue and best of British to you all for 2008,i hope its a busy one for you all.

I have only had a few calls, but i was expecting them as i knew the jobs were there before Xmas. I havent had any new jobs come in, so i have taken some site work on to keep me going. I think lots of people will be waiting for January to be over before thinking about having tiling done.

just because im not busy and have had no calls, im not worried as im new to tiling and from just having my name in the yellow pages i was busy every week leading up to xmas so as soon as january gets out the way im confident it will pick up and stay up :mad2:

i have had more calls this year than i have had for 15 years guys looking for work time will tell and i haven't started back yet was meant to be Monday been put off again : Pete
:huh2:

Yep I am the same as Tysfoot, no work at the moment, I tend to phone and talk to trades people, call in kitchen shops shops etc. and drop leaflets, but if it does not pick up soon I will need to find alternative work to pay my bills.
Some one said they spent £3,000 ? on advertising but did not say what value of work it brought in ?

I wouldn't spend 3k on advertising with any directory. Especially yellow Pages.

Stick to their free listing but I wouldn't pay them anything. You know they sell on your details too? Gits.

I have been busy promoting my services for a couple of weeks now - more knackered than when tiling.

Now have confirmed work booked for both domestic and commercial. I like the mix, it keeps me sane.

I have used a company for all my flyers/brochures etc for a while, they do a great job at a great price which helps. Spent about £150.00 on printing and with a little help from them on design have over £3,500 of work.

Even though i now have a lot more worked booked i shall continue to promote my self, company and services, it feels so much better being busy doing that rather than sat waiting for the phone to ring. Also agree with Dan on Yellow Pages.

If you would like the details for my flyers or the printers P.M. me.
