Hi there folks! As you may guess im relatively new to tiling hence the questions I ask! I'm laying a ceramic floor for a friend whilst fitting his kitchen, he was going to lay the floor himself so I'm happy I can do as good ( I would hope better) job as he would. The orginal floor was quarry tiles set in. Very solid and secure so I'm happy with no over plying. We chopped in some central heating pipes so I have SLC'd the floor with cempolatex from cementone.

The last few jobs i have done I Have used Mapei Keraflex but I dont think I need as good a quality adhesive as that so I was thinking of using either Topps Tiles branded single part flexi or Bond-its version.

Have anyone used these brands and what were your opinions?

Thanks in advance.

why would,nt you need as good an addy as mapei,
stick with what you know, are you saying you have slc over the quarrys , are you sure they are secure , did you check for any movement or hollow sounding tiles, might have been wise to remove them ,

Indeed I have SLC'd over the quarrys, I am happy they are secure after removing the ones to place the central heating pipes. As you can guess I'm trying to pull back a bit of cash for him as the job is costing far more than he had anticipated. I understand you cannot afford to compromise on some things but with no underfloor heating and it not being a bathroom I hoped to use a less costly adhesive.

Opinions?

Seen it in Magnets and a few guys pick up the bags but not my cup of tea when I can get weber almost next door though..

Thats where I had spotted it! Our lads use Weber at work but when I used the premixed I didn't like it . . . Around here i can get hold of the stuff from topps, weber, mapei. Like I say I'm not trying to cut corners just claw a bit of cash back for him!
