Then why don't you just mix up some flour and water, and save yourself a few quid.
you have no sensible reply then.:whatchutalkingabout
what was the nature of your failure, what product failed and why was it BALS fault, and what did it cost BAL to correct it.
just because bal and any other company ie:everest windows, nhbc, etc give 25 year guarantees they aint worth the paper they are written on.
are you telling me that if a bathroom failed and no fixing or substrate issue could be found but the customer admitted using the shower after 9 days that bal would not say you didnt follow the guidelines so tough luck.
if you believe they would say we will pay to have it put right then your already brainwashed by your employer, and this isnt something you would have believed a year ago when you were a tiler.
companies have guidelines for many reasons but the main one is it covers there a**se,and you know it.

Pair of ya!!!.Give it a rest will ya...:mad2:....
your right dave, but i was not pointing at bal or any company,im just stating what every company does, which is gives guarantees but uses loopholes to get out of them.
i apologize if this if this has offended bal or branty, but its a fact unfortunately.

It appears a sensible reply is not enough for yourself.
Even if I could discuss people personal business (data protection act), I don't think it would matter to you.
If your tiles fall off the wall. The only thing we, and any other adhesive company have to garauntee is our products. We cannot gaurantee the fixing, how the instalation was constructed or how it has been used.
If there's a failure, we and any other company will test our products. If they are tested to be the correct formula, then the problem has to be beyond our control, and not down to us or any other company to put it right. After all, if we make 1000's of tons of adhesive the same way, with no problems, then who's problem is it?

So why dont we all get rid of the garauntee, and you fix tiles how you want?
What I am seeing in this job (no brainwashing needed), is guys on the phone say they have fixed it to BS. Then on inspection you have a floor, 12mm ply, screwed every 400mm, 80% coverage, bedded to 15mm in places, with no peremiter joint. So nearly a floor done to standards. So becasue he has fixed this way for 20+ Years, it must be BAL's fault? Because BAL insist on sticking to BS, thats them wriggling out of it?

Why bother then?
Because the law says you have to grauntee a product you sell. Thats usualy a year. If it's not fit for it's purpose. Then the consumer has to be reinbursed some how.
For that to work, in any industry, they has to be a benchmark. wether a car, washing machine, computer or tile adhesvive. It's not up to the manufacterer to determine how it should perform. If you call it a C2S2 adhesive, it has to perform to that.

The reason I mentioned BAL is because the original thread was about BAL grip.

data protection has nothing to do with you discussing a failed product i suggest you just chucked that in to try proving me wrong.
if there really was a bal failed product then as you have stated there must be a whole batch or the product itself dont do what it states on the tin.
you of course wont tell us, but did you tell every store that had sold that batch or bought the product for a said purpose......... i doubt it,that is why you wont say what the failure was.

Old git, all that you're saying is supposition.
As I've told you. The law, and my bosses would not allow me to talk about some body's personal business on a public forum. I'm not going to risk my job for your good self.
You'll just have to take my word that BAL dealt with it in a professional manner, in the end everybody was happy. Because we have a guarantee, and stick to it.
