Maybe someone can me give me some advice
I would like to tile directly on top of (HD) XPS insulation pannels but I don't know whether this is possible? The existing cement floor is already tiled.

I though of putting down a vapor barrior and then the XPS pannels. To save height I would perfer to tile directly onto the XPS. DOes anyone have any experience with this? Must the pannels be glued down to the exsisting floor? Do you need an Reinforcing mesh between the tiles and the pannels?

Thanks for the advice from those with the experience.

David

Looking at the spec, i would say no you cannot tile directly to it..

Cps not suitable to receive tiles directly. Marmox possibly or maybe styrofoam. Tile to xps and then drop summat heavy on it and the tiles will fall off. would not even be as good as a floating floor IMO
