Well fellas. Ive posted a couple of threads regarding which slc to a depth of up to roughly 30mm and ive sourced Dunlop large format adhesive which is also suitable as a leveler up to 25mm. At the shop i got it they advised me to bulk it out with sharp sand otherwise it would never maintain its height. there is no mention of using a sand on the bags and i'm wondering if any of you out there can shed some light on the subject. i've called the helpline on the bag but i only got a machine! lol Any advice would be most welcome

Why use adhesive as a self leveller ? and I know it says it can be done but you will be going through the trouble of adding sand too and adhesive manufacturers claim product are waterproof when in fact they are water resistant. I doubt very much you will get as good a finish as SLC will give you either.

Self levelling compound for self levelling
Adhesive for sticking tiles down IMO.

Their is an SLC called 'level it one' which can be used for depths of 3mm-50mm without having an aggregate added to it. I get it from Topps but I'm sure its available elsewhere, I have seen it on e-Bay.

as for why i'm using it is because the manufacturer{dunlop) says its suitable to do so and i assume they being a trusted brand they are correct i understand exactly what you're saying about using only slc for leveling etc but my question is more about adding sand or not. like i say it makes no mention of it on the bag so i assume its not required.

35 quid a bag. Just checked it out, the dunlop is half that, i'm trying to keep the costs down for the punter
