anyone have any thoughts on nicobond adhesive...
usually use weber or bal . but i popped into nicobond the other day two see what there prices were like , i was going to be buying weber flexi with ad250 for a quartz floor, but the salesman in shop mentioned there adhesive with the enhancer which was pretty much admix. he said the adhesive was the equivalent of bal ptb.
prices were pretty good

i will have a look at weber guide tomorrow its in van. going to go with weber . its what i usually use so i trust it. and plus the data sheet link has put me of with the p v a chat,,,
the only reason i was considering it was prices ...,
i will maybe get some trims of them they were beating c t d on genesis

for quartz I would use tilemasters ultimate or ultra s2
don't think any s1 adddy is suitable for resin quartz tiles

Spot on Lee - we recommend using our Ultimate S2 and have done for many years - it works perfectly well.
Most companies do recommend using a 2 part latex based adhesive and again I have heard of no problems using this method.

So thats a no to fixing quartz with a latex base addy the ray 🙁
I don't fix quartz that often and have fix it in the past with an add mix , but since using tile masters ultimate with the last 2 quartz jobs ive done both with ufh I'm convinced that ultimate dose the job equally as well

When I was doing the Body Shops in their quartz type stuff - it was always ardex s16 & ardion90 or in sand cement if the floor needed building up. Funny how we never had a problem fixing them in S&C.

need to source the adhesive locally as I am starting it soon. Anyone know a supplier of tilemaster adhesive in galsgow

I would use which ever fixing method the quartz manufacturers recommend, and for gulf stone its latex based.
I don't understand why you wouldn't!! Cost? Is there really that much of a saving?

No saving at all but as tilmaster guarantee there ultimate for Quartz y go elsewere.

I did say the other day that tile master Ultimate would be fine but I got shot down
I try and support my local tile shop and as they now sell tile master at a far better cost than the. C t d and tops addies nearby I save a packet and so do my customers

If the tile manufacturers and adhesive companies recommend different fixing methods I will follow the tile manufacturers advice, each to there own Ray 🙂

Considering the amount of moisture in sand/cement and the time the screed takes to dry.....

nothing to do with cost when i am considering the tilemaster adhesive . just heard good reports about it.and i was wondering if there was anywhere that stocks in glasgow, i am going to to c t d to get adhesive in morning so i can hopefully start tiling in afternoon or monday, i am going to stich]k with weber as i trust it,
the reason i asked about nicobond was i had never used it and the saving was a couple of hundred pound
