Have just stumbled across this thread........ This woman is disgusting, she is the consumer version of the cowboy builder and deserves nothing more than a slap.
Phil you have an opportunity here to really take this scumbag to the cleaners, get in contact with all your old customers, contact your local paper and tell them the story, your an award winning tiler who comes armed with a thousand references, get this cheap bit of **** named and shamed in your local. I would go to whatever lengths i needed to make sure i got my money.... and some.
This dirty ***** needs taming.
I don't know you mate but have seen your photo's and watched your video of your work and reading your posts can tell what kind of tradesman you are. You and your work is straight out the top drawer, a proper craftsman and i hope, i sincerely hope you do take this right to the very end and get what your owed.

Have had a letter confirming my claim from court, she has until 12th April to respond.Bad bit is she has all kind of options to delay the court case. It seems the law has to give her the right to string me along.
I asked her last night by email to give me a convenient date for a TTA report to be done, but again no response. I will never let this go, even if it kills me.
Keep at 'em Phil, both barrels mate, and then some!!!

Well it can go either -way remember Phil !!! and you could end-up pay your costs and theres if you lose , mine has cost me about £15,000 so far and i'am the defendant ,and its taken about 3 years and still not in court yet, and the damage to your nerves and family are off the scale, i would never recommend court actions to anyone..... get a mediator and have a meeting its cheaper.......

I have one at the moment Phil I did a massive favour for someone at short notice then the clown decided to dick me around with my money for over a month so I did a money claim online on Saturday very easy and the £60 charge went on the debt

the fact shes ignoring you could be a good thing, the judge will take a very dim view of the fact you have gone above and beyond the call of duty to sort this out and shes just ignoring you like a child, perhaps she thinks a no good tiler is beneath her and hasn't got what it takes to take her to the cleaners, all the more reason you should see this to the bitter end no mater how long it takes..

Thank you all for your support, this is a first for me after 47 years it's never happened before, I hope it never happens again, but I don't mind admitting it has rocked me to the core, effected my family, my work, my marriage, and my finances.

Phil.i have had a 3.5 k debt for over three years now and I have not had the energy to pursue the lady who is a senior partner in top london law firm.i know i am in right and even have email to say what a great job was done but she just decided to not pay becAuse I got ****ed off with her lack time given to project .
but you have inspired me to follow this up before too late.it is easy for us to say just go legal but it is a whole load of Agro.but people like this get away with this kind of stuff because people do not stand up to them.i will now go down your line as well as much as I don't really want to.i am still sure your client will fold

Chin up phil, nothing is worth putting yourself through this. My advice would be accept it as a loss of money and a lesson learned, now I'm not saying give up!! I think you should certainly pursue it but stop thinking about it, just let go but in back ground just go through the steps to getting your money back but try not to let it control your life in the here and now. In the medium term, you will get your money back, you will have learned a lesson too. That's not what's bothering you I guess though, it's the fact she has done this, questioning your work and if your anything like me then you will also be questioning your work, well phill, no work is perfect mate, not even the work of probably the best tiler in England and after all... it's only tiles man ;-)

Ive just been reading through all this and im gob smacked. Its unbelieveable the ****e we have to deal with to make an honest living. I was glad to read youre not letting her get away with it Phil. Doesnt she know who she's dealing ? Mr Phil Hobson Master Craftsman!
