what trowel ?

Hi,

I am about to tile a floor which will be 330mm porcelain tile on 6mm hardibacker on ply.

The installation will be over "between the joist" wet underfloor heating.

The installation instructions for hardi state use of a 6mm square notch trowel but I have read that this will generally only achieve ~70% coverage. I wish to ensure that there are no air voids between the ply and Hardi and am not sure what trowel to use to achieve this.

Should I use a 10mm half round solid bed or something else??

Also I am intending to use "Keraflex maxi S1" both under the hardi and under the tile, will this be ok for both?

I have tiled quite a lot of walls but never a floor so want the extended open time?

Any informed help / comments appreciated.

Cheers.

Hardi recoment standard advesive not flexible to stick boards down. You can use genesis tiger trowel. And something flexible to stick tiles down. But wait for others to answer your questions.
