I was just wondering who uses their washboys for walls and floors?
I used to use it for both but now I only use it for floors because of the effect it sometimes has on the grout on the walls.
Maybe Gaz or Dave can turn it into a poll!(don't have the know how)

use mine on both and couldnt do without it now. you have to let the grout set just right and use the washboy lightly diagonally over the joints.

Simon maybe you are not leaving the grout on long enough before using washboy. What i do is start at one wall and by the time i get finished the others the grout is drying and then i swirl the sponge OVER THE GROUT LINES and move on to the next wall etc and when im finished doing the spongeing i then wipe with washboy.Give it a go m8,but sometimes you need to work fast, heat etc.

The only time I don't really use my washboy is on kitchen splashbacks as they are often too small and fiddly for the washboy sponge, other that that I use it for everything.

on floors and commercial walls and say penny rounds that type of mosaics where there are larger walls but not top notch domestics 😛ete

i would love to be able to afford to be old fashioned have you a wet saw ? if you have may i ask why ? and the same answer applies to a wash boy

Thats how I've done it Bri but on the odd job it hasn't come out right.Had 6 other tilers on site and they looked at me with shock when they saw me using a washboy on the walls, none of them would use a washboy on wals(too much water they say).Used a bucket and sponge on the next wall and the finish was definately better.
