Hi guys

I will be putting underfloor heating in the new bathroom. Thing is, to keep things level ish.. I will also need to put the underfloor heating (electric mats) on to the wet room tray also.

is this ok to do?

and should I use a self levelling compound to cover the UFH? or just tile on to it?

what about SLC on the wet room tray.. wont it take up the pre formed gradiant?

thanks

Dave

It can be done... Float the tray over with Adhesive ( No slc),, leave a slight lippage of adhesive and then SLC up to that... it is an option but some do not like UFH over the tray.. but hey it can be done.

Good point just thought if the ufh was waterproofed over it wouldn't take as long to dry out and then heat .

TBO Jay.. i do uncouple over the top....

But options sometimes don't allow this.. but i agree the less substrate for moisture then the less chance for mould.

There is an issue over here that some slc don't like moisture that much always recommend that a slc suitable for exterior work is used

Most here are fibre enhanced and ok with with wetting but don't like frost... but Stonefix SLC is ok with both..

But again.. wot like is objectives from around the globe.. best way for all to learn.

morning gents

in my situation it would be

plywood
marmox 6mm board
taped and tanked (mapegum)
UFH
SLC
Tiles

would this be ok?

I was thinking of using mapei fibreplan SLC? or Ardex latex?

Hey guys, dont mean to bang on but ive dismissed ardex slc now..

so its mapei fibreplan or bal fibrebase?

also just to conform when laying UFH on to the wet room tray, that I use flex tile adhesive over the UFH on the tray, carefully trowelled with a flat edge trowel, keeping the gradient, then SLC the actual room up toi the tray edges?
