Bloody hell that's bad!!!

not sure what's worse, the guy who tiled it or the customer who lets it get so bad before thinking maybe it needs rectifying, even more so that it's a wet room, where did they think the water was going???

A bit of both I think! They even said they hope the joists aren't affected!!! It's ok though, they assumed I was free to start work on it next week........more like mid November!

Haha love it when a customer just assumes that you can start a job in the next few days.
Although it doesn't always mean you are a bad tiler!!! [emoji6][emoji6]

Yet another one today....looks ok for a 10yr old floor. Felt solid enough, but removed the whole floor plus adhesive in 20 minutes by by hand. Tiles completely de bonded when exposed to slight leverage due to the old bitumen contaminating the bond with the tiles. Another job to use the SBR slurry

Came across this today.
chiboard, 6 mm ply, wedi board tray moving about, no tanking, dotted tiles.
And yes that is the room below through to hole.
job done 4 years ago!

So the ceiling below is up the shoot as well then:yikes:
tbh on the face of it the bathroom looked amazing. Since this happened she had been using a guest bathroom , which again looks amazing . The tiles are limestone and since they have been using it every day, the stone is getting stained. It again has a wet room type shower. Having a closer look, most of the tile joints are cracked and a lot are loose. Went downstairs to look under this one and low and behold , new damp patch!
The same tiler did both!
the original tiler blames the plumber for not tanking, the original plumber blames the builder who allegedly fitted the tray. And the builder is no longer with us to defend.
customer was nearly in tears. I have proposed taking up tiles ( no longer made!) replacing tray, floor and under floor heating. Tanking shower and re tiling. Quick tot up came to about £2400 per bathroom.

Just been to check a couple of measurements at this ensuite I will be ripping out. Check out the cowboy job who has been paid and legged it.
Enjoy!

It didn't look as hideous on my first visit but the more I looked this time I just had to take pics!
Check out the "brickbond" or not on the last pic

Yep 80% paid. Took him 2 weeks of coming and going and they kept feeding him cash! Now his phone is off but they are going down the legal route. Why do people hand over cash in these situations it's beyond me I've never asked for labour costs up front!

I see that sort of thing every month. They get paid, bugger off and a year or less later cannot be contacted when it leaks, falls off the walls, comes up off the floor...you know the score

Check this one out!
The floor was just tiled over the caber boards, came up with my bucket trower. Ive had to dryline everything again.
Ive never seen as much Silicon in one bathroom, the photos do not do it justice[emoji22][emoji22]
There was a 'bath panel on, but they had to take to off, it was a piece of mdf, siliconed to the front of the bath, it stuck up a inch on one side and below a inch the other, thats how far the bath was out of level, it stuck up that far they couldnt open the shower door.
It was taken off before i could take a photo so they could fix a leak .
Its cost this poor family nigh on 4 grand for this mess, then they are paying me to do it again [emoji15]

How was they allowed to finish it, surely the customer must have been inspecting the work as it progressed FFS.

How do these people get away with it...:mad2:

Well the lady called me and said she is worried she is being too picky and just wanted me to have a look before they let him continue. Once they saw me laugh at it she got her answer! They then told him they were not happy and that they don't want him to come back and finish. Since then they can't get hold of him etc
