Hi,

I'm tiling a bathroom and want to place a vertical strip of chrome / Alum insert, at the join between two differing tile designs.

I've seen some U bent strip but this is too wide (about 10mm) to fit into a standard tile gap of about 4/5mm.

Porcelenosa do something called "propart trim" which I assume is T shaped as it seems to fit between tiles at the standard gap...problem is its £63 per 2.5mtr..

Does anyone else do a similar strip which might be a touch cheaper..?

Thanks Al

Re: T shape tile inserts

schluter are probably worth a try, if you registered on the tilers forum(it's completely free, just like the advice!) you'd probably get more response:thumbsup:

Re: T shape tile inserts

would agree with brian here,it will probably be the cheapest and neatest option:thumbsup:

Re: T shape tile inserts

He's asking for a listello of about 4/5mm to go between two different tile types.
If you can get one that thin IMO it will just look like a 'bad' joint.
The Homelux/Schluter decor trim in chrome at 10mm as suggested by others would seem the choice of many.

Re: T shape tile inserts

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your suggestions. It may be that I'm not explaining myself very well....

What I'm after is a T profile strip of which the downstroke of the "T" slides in between the said tiles and the horizontal bar of the "T" sits on top of the tiles..therefore the horizontal bar of the "T" can be approx 10-12mm.

This is a great site by the way..thanks again for your assistance.

Hi Guys,

I've now registered so wanted to throw this back in again.
I'm trying to buy a T profile strip (Chrome or alum) which I can fit between two differing tile types. I only have the normal gap 4/5mm in which to do it....

What I'm after is a T profile strip of which the downstroke of the "T" slides in between the said tiles and the horizontal bar of the "T" sits on top of the tiles..therefore the horizontal bar of the "T" can be approx 10-12mm.

I've seen this at Porcelanosa, but at £63 per 2.5metre strip its a mite expensive...

The tiling is complete except for pushing these strips in so I can't increase the gap and put in a listello type strip.

This is a great site by the way..thanks again for your assistance.

There is a silver coloured PLASTIC infill that is used on ceiling panels - it pushes into the gap.
However it will scratch and rub off with time/cleaning and would not be recommended for long term installation.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I only have the depth of a tile so the 3/4" alum T suggested is too deep.

I looked at the listerello's, as suggested, but they only come in the U shape profile and at 10mm at too large to fit....The tiles are already on the wall so I cannot alter them.
