HI There, im about to layout Jackoboard panels and wetroom shower tray on my bathroom floor, whilst the floor is up im going to take up the uneven and gappy 100yr old floor boards and lay a new subfloor new. Question is, should i use standard flooring chip board, standard 18mm Ply or 18mm marine ply. Im thinking chip board should by fine as im using the tile backer backer board to tile to and water proof. If i was to tile direct to the board then it would be the marine ply. Im i correct in my approach? Many thanks

P5 moisture resistant chipboard will be fine, and is what I have just used on the wetroom I am currently working on.

You could use 22mm no more ply direct to joists then sit your tray flush with that and tank over the top that's the lowest profile way to do it with no build up in the door way and no need to over board

Ive ordered all my tray and boards now, otherwise this would have been the solution. I wasnt going to lift the old floor but thought might as well whilst every thing else is getting done to ensure a flat starting point.
