I have used both recently,depending on which was on offer at the time. But at low thickness levels I wouldn't call them 'self leveling'I usually use bal level max but used mapei renovation screed on my last job. They are fairly similar, but mapei seemed to flow a little more.
That is why I prefer TM FineFlow......... it floooooooooowsAgree! You can’t use a spiked roller with Bal either.

yes - as I wrote above ^ it is OK for solid floors.UFH,yes. But only over concrete it seems. No mention of overboarded timber floors.
