Wondering if someone can help me

I've removed some old tiles, however a lot of the plaster came off, so I took what was left of the plaster off

the walls now look like this

will it be ok to put the tiles on to the walls like it is?

the new tiles are 250x400mm 8mm

Thanks

same here tellytv, can't see the pic. What's the substrate now?, if you're back to bare brick/block I'd be inclined to dot and dab plasterboard where the plaster was, tank it and then tile.

looks like browning to me, if so, and rest looks like this, re-skimming it could be an option if you're prepared to wait quite a while until it's fully cured and you plan on using ceramic (not porcelain or stone) tiles.

As above, browning but if you reskimed it you would need seal it then pva it to stop any suction.

I'd be tapping it to see if there are any hollow areas.

Dig a sharp tool into the material, if it goes in then it's browning, if it bounces off then it's sand/cement.
