Discuss New UFH screed with a few cracks. in the Canada area at TilersForums. The USA and UK Tiling Forum (Also now Aus, Canada, ROI, and more)
I'd recommend....
1)Hoover if dusty
2)Prime
3)Idrobuilds good
4)kerakoll no limits fine too
Difficult to assess without seeing it - pictures?
How big and significant are the cracks ?
From hairline to a few mm wide.
Don't risk it. Get the screed checked. Has it curled, is it anhydrite?
Checked how? It's a brand new cementitious flowing screed installed in March.
Get the screeders back to fix it...
So is it faulty? I assumed that ALL screeds will crack is some way at some point.
You have at least w types of cracks there... shrinkage cracks and restraintvcracks. Both are minimised by correct joint placement. Can't see any joints in that so whilst the screed material itself may or may not be faulty the installation is certainly faulty. Whybshpuld you pick up the tab for repairs when sojeone else is at faukt
You been on the shandies Alan?
Thanks. I'll get in touch with the installers and see what they say.
Installers have been a little difficult to get hold of. So I'm going it alone...
Material should all be here early next week. Wish me luck....
I don't know anything about the Kerakoll uncoupler but I have never been let down with Ditra
