No Phil it is not variable speed, have to control it on trigger, that's the down side. But saying that i would get one again.

I got the Lidl Mixer a few months ago. The variable speed trigger takes a bit of getting used to, but the good points include 1. The auto slow start 2.The bracket you can fit to the handle so that you can hang it up in the back of the van, 3. comes with a 3 year warranty. ( of course we're not using it for 'commercial work') 🙂
Its a great piece of kit.

I will second that, I use mine for mixing SLC, at the price I paid it can't be beaten.

i would recomend the rubi basic line mixer had mine two years still going strong, you get spare brushes its a variable speed all the buttons are in the right place and the paddle is still good after being banged with a mallet loads of times to remove rapid set, think it cost me about £90 also good for slc

Bought 2 from lidl in the past 3 years and both going strong - £39.95 and the oldest had variable speed the second not.
Best buy available and will buy again for stock when they come back on sale.
