Google maps is back for iPhones

Not sure if there's a thread already but google maps is back in the App Store, and comes with turn by turn navigation too now.

Still can't get my head around apple maps calling streets by their road numbers instead of names. I didn't even know we had a a5007 near me I've always called it by its road name.

There's no sign saying it has a road number how are we meant to know without checking an a-z - and that sort of makes the maps thing pointless.

I've never got lost using apple maps thankfully as thousands have apparently. But never fully trusted it.

Well done google for sorting that out anyway.

Apple maps reckon that to get to my house, I have to park the car at the bottom of the road and walk the last 160 yards, LOL!

Some of these apps are terrible - I've just installed a compass app and it's not even close to accurate.

I use orange maps for my navigation on my iPhone. So much better for navigation

Nobody has ever spent more money and time (with human corrections teams) than google.

If you want THE most accurate and reliable maps (still not 100% perfect as its an ongoing thing) then google's the one you need.

Orange must surely use a third party service as they don't do maps.

It must be a third party thing. Here's Orange maps. I've got speed camera detection & Traffic on it too.
