Hi all,

What does everyone think about dot and dabbing tiles? Good or bad? Is there not a British standard that's says 75% or 80% of the tile has to have adhesive on it??

Dot and dab is fantastic one dot on the corners and a dab in the middle job done and if you are a really good tiler you can do it all in blue tack

barclay, barclay, barcly.....i just hope with a daft question like that you are a plumber, or an electrician, or groundworker.....anything but a tiler

dont forget the pva and porridge oats

Tricky situation arose only today.........

My 'Boss' was called on to tile a floor in a celler which we screeded a couple of weeks ago.
While I am trying to learn the 'art' of tiling my 'Boss' is completely self tought and of course an expert!
Imagine my horror when I saw him laying the 330mm square Black Wickes Ceramic Tiles using the 'dot & dab' method!
Obviously, only being the trainee, I am only good enough to do the cuts!
The horror of this method was proved late in the day when he applied pressure with one knee in the centre of a tile laid on Friday resulting in a very nicely cracked tile!
I think I will stick to these forums & books for instruction and leave the Boss to teach me what NOT to do!

Phil
