Many posts have been made on the subject of using an angle grinder with diamond blade for cutting tiles. Now i have never hidden my thoughts when used correctly but if you take a look at these videos i feel you can see why they can be dangerous. IMHO these videos should be entitled

This last one too needs some serious thought on safety.

I understand what you are saying about the last video but that cut could have been done a lot easier on a bench cutter with the wheel in the bed and not over. Just my view though.

Those type of cutters are very popular over in the states.....felker do a lot of them.....and the new dewalt cutter is based on the same principal...great for straight cuts with stone/porcelain etc...but as you say not ideal for L-cuts...

I used a similar Rubi machine during my time in Australia and as you say they are good. What i noticed was that if when lifting the tile to get up to the mark as in the Video is that you could if not careful pinch the wheel and that in turn would either break the tile or snatch it out of your hand. I think i will stick with my methods for L shaped cuts etc.

Gd'day all!

My first post I am from Melbourne, OZ and I am glad to be reading this thread on angle grinders and safety.
A dangerous and very useful tool there should be more posts as well as videos as to how safely use power tools.
