Martin Jol resigns...surely #Newcastle wouldn't sack Hughton if they didn't have anybody already close to putting pen to paper.

Just a note from a friend of mine Charlie Webster Sky Sports Totty just

Always been a Chris Hughton fan, from his playing days, good luck to him. What is it with their management? The newcastle merry go round starts again

The only thing that has surprised me today is that Chris Hughton was given 4months and 16 games this season.
It took to the end of last season in the '2nd' division before many supporters accepted what a good job Hughton had done and we knew he would only be here till Xmas as his contract would have to be renewed - and that would be dependent on results!
So we are 11th in the table, 4 points above the relegation position and have lost to clubs we should have done better against:mad2:
Now I believe he has done a magnificient job under circumstances that we no doubt will never hear about, and I, like all true supporters, Thank Him for the work he has done for Newcastle United.
But we don't own the club - we are the club - but we don't own it.
So we continue with the Owners/Directors/Chairman that we have had to endure for all my life and SUPPORT the players who wear the BLACK AND WHITE and are proud to be the TOON ARMY!

Amazes me how they can sack hughton and houllier is running us into the ground and its seen as a 'transitional' season:mad2:

Ashley has been an idiot again. I cant believe they sacked Hughton - In my opinion NUFC are doing better than I thought they would. Hughton may not be the best manager, but they have showed absolutely no loyalty to a man who has had no money to spend and done well. Jol and Pardew are mentioned, but it is a massive coincidence Big MJ resigned from Ajax testerday...Ironically Hughton was his no 2 at Spurs

forgot that!

Jol - Hughton was his No.2 - so if he was coming Hughton would still be there.
Pardew - The board said they wanted a manager with more esteem and bigger profile who could take them to the next level - so who is Pardew compared to Hughton.

Martin O'Neil - the only name to appease the fans.

Good manager but hey not as good as our who will be available soon.

WALTER SMITHS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!

Alan Pardew  - No better than Chris Hughton
Martin O Neill:thumbsdown: - Overrated, over opinionated and would be under funded at NUFC
Alan Curbishley:thumbsdown: - No better than Chris Hughton
Martin Jol:thumbsdown: - Non starter as good mates with Chris Hughton
Alan Shearer:thumbsdown: - No better than Chris Hughton
Jurgen Klinsmann:thumbsdown: - Would you leave California for Barrack Road??:yikes:
They've arranged a press conference for tomorrow to unveil the new manager - likely to be Par-who-dew😛rrr: Unbelievable:mad2:

It just gets better and better........:mad2:

Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | News | Magpies considered Tisdale

Ad this extract from the Guardian tells why Par-who is the frame.....

Pardew is no stranger to Ashley or Newcastle's managing director, Derek Llambias, having developed friendly relationships with both men during visits to the London casino Llambias ran before arriving at St James'. Such personal history may not impress those supporters who ensured Martin O'Neill – never a candidate for the job – topped the Evening Chronicle poll with 42% of the vote. Martin Jol, who ruled himself out due to his close bond with Hughton, commanded 33% and Alan Shearer, who has not spoken to Ashley for 18 months, came third with 8%.

Well.. we can only hope he proves his five and 5 1/2 year contract is worth it..
I wasn't too impressed with the way he emphasised he has concentrated on his contract deal over the last day and a half, rather than meeting the players.....a cynical man could read something into that.....😛rrr:

He says that he wants a long contract to show his commitment to the club and fans.. we will see hey!.?

No better than Hughton(maybe worse) its a shame really with the fanbase you have got its the bottom of the managerial barrel really you deserve better:mad2:

i hope my sarcasm came through Doug

I don't see how Alan Pardew is a better class of manager than Hughton :nonod:

would you says he's a winner Liz??, The Toon Army deserve a top top manager, it's shambolic that it's god knows how long since they got any silverware to match their support. They need another Bobby Robson.

We did win the championship cup last season if that counts..🙂🙂🙂

not for a club of Newcastles stature Dave, they (the fans anyway) deserve to be right up there seriously contending for the top silverware.

many a club now sack there managers without given them a chance if you look at man u and arsenal same manager for years which bought them sucess ,newcastle 12 managers in 13 yers pure crazy

Why is there so much interest about NUFC - 'they're not a top club!'
I can understand 50,000 local fans being concerned at another change at OUR club, but it's on every news/radio channel and as yet I haven't been interviewed for my views .

Football is a business and as NUFC have no debt, are in the Premier League, and will no doubt attract 52,000 fans for saturdays game v Liverpool - it sounds as though its a pretty solid going concern.

Alan Pardew has a 5 year contract and I wish him well for the sake of the Newcastle United supporters.

pardew interview today, forget about cups, avoiding relegation is priority! isn't that what chrissy hughton was doing
