Re: Bought a new tool today

Theres a bloke on ebay wants to swap his new sigma for a Rubi....

Re: Bought a new tool today

I spent 250 on the cutter, some new trowels (got a mosaic job on so needed smaller ones) some new nippers, some sponges oh and a few bits for the job lol

Re: Bought a new tool today

I have wanted a rubi for ages and thought its my birthday thursday so I would treat myself to something I wanted 😀

Re: Bought a new tool today

Could have bought two Sigmas for the price of that DIY cutter!!!

Re: Bought a new tool today

Rubi's are easier to use, but Sigma's are a far superior cutter in my opinion!

You could probably saved yourself a pound or three by shopping around but if you're happy with your purchase then thats all that matters.

I have quickly regretted my purchase so its going back tomorrow!

The breaking system is poor and has marked several tiles on a job today (luckily its brick effect so can use the off cuts somewhere else). Going to get my clinker and wet saw out tomorrow and finish the job with that instead.

TradeTiler was £20 cheaper but I couldn't be bothered to wait lol.

When I worked with my business partner we carried a 60 & 60+, his 60+ was like new & my 60 had a lot more use so that should give you some idea how good a 60+ is..
Here's a far better deal for you..

Try trade tiler as said above as Dave is 1st class to deal with..

That was the 60 plus but I dont like it maybe just that one but doesnt seem the best.

I was going to ask what everyone recommended as I have £250 to spend on a cutter.

My wife always says to me "Ice to an eskimo" she hated it when I was self employed but now its all bought through the business 😀 😀

No what I mean is the 60+ is the updated machine of the standard 60. It has more breaking strain.
We used my 60 more than the 60+ of my neebs.
The 60+ is crap & it was advertised for porcelain.
If you stick with Rubi go for a TR or better still the TX range.
I switched to Sigma & I'm in no rush to go back to Rubi.

Oh ok thought you meant you used the plus more, I used a rubi last year and it was pretty good but not sure which one it was.

I have looked at both the sigma's and the rubi's and not sure which one to buy!?

My advice would be to not spend that amount of money without actually trying out the machine first.

60+ is fine for ceramics.
The tx is a superb cutter, never tried a sigma, im happy with the tx,it does the job and does it well, really well
