Cracked was an American humor magazine. Founded in 1958, Cracked proved to be the most durable of the many publications to be launched in the wake of Mad magazine. In print, Cracked conspicuously copied Mad's layouts and style, and even featured a simpleminded, wide-cheeked mascot, a janitor named Sylvester P. Smythe on its covers, in a manner similar to Mad's Alfred E. Neuman. Unlike Neuman, who appears primarily on covers, Smythe sometimes spoke and was frequently seen inside the magazine, interacting with parody subjects and other regular characters. A 1998 reader contest led to Smythe finally getting a full middle name: "Phooey." An article on Cracked.com, the website which adopted Cracked's name after the magazine ceased publication, joked that the magazine was "created as a knock-off of Mad magazine just over 50 years ago", and it "spent nearly half a century with a fan base primarily comprised of people who got to the store after Mad sold out."Cracked's publication frequency was reduced in the 1990s, and was erratic in the 2000s. In 2006, the magazine was revived with a new editorial formula that represented a significant departure from its prior Mad style. The new format was more akin to "lad" magazines like Maxim and FHM. The new formula, however, was unsuccessful and Cracked again canceled its print magazine in February 2007 after three issues. Later that year, the brand was carried over to a website, Cracked.com, now owned by Literally Media.
I had to change two tiles that had cracked on a floor I did 10 years ago it was a hard job as the tiling was but joint 600 by 300 polished porcelain brick bond and there was only two spare tiles.
The lady said she could not afford to pay me but if I did the job she would sleep with me.

Hi
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Last April we had a lovely conservatory fitted. Our builder (who was above excellent) recommended a local tiler. He persuaded us to have electric underfloor heating (Devimat Warm Floor System) as he could fit this as well as lay the tiles. He also...

Hi
We have a problem with linear cracks in a newly laid limestone tiled floor.
The screed substrate at around 65-70mm thickness was laid by the builder onto the foundations, then an extra thick layer of insulation - required by building control due to extra glass in the room. The screed has...

I had a new bathroom installed recently (three months). Three walls around the bath and shower tiled. Over the past week approx 8 tiles (so far) have cracked in a vertical line (so almost the same line down on each tile in a vertical row). The tiles are over a false wall which was built to hide...
Have a friend who is a top tiler. He put a bathroom floor in with underfloor heating, he also used flexible adhesive & grout. After 6-9 months alot of the tiles have what looks like a tree branch crack effect over them.
It also looks like it is in the glaze & not the tile.
The cracks don't run...
I laid a travertine floor last year and loads of cracks have appeared. It was a water UFH floor about 35m. The screed was put down months before i started and had been warmed up before i started. I used a single part flexible adhesive suitable so it is baffling. it is a long floor and when i...

Hi,
I wonder if anyone could give me some advice. We have recently had a wet room fitted. Two months after the installation, we noticed that a tile had cracked (not in the actual showering area, but immediately adjacent to it). The tiler insists that we must have dropped something on the...
Hello, I have got a problem with my recently laid ceramic tile floor (laid by a tradesman not by me) as the grouting is now cracking and in some places bits have come out. Can any one advise what the problem and remedy may be?
The (black) grout looked virtually liquid when the tiler put it...

Hi Guys,
I bottled out of tiling our new extension, 55 sq m of 600x 600 polished procelain. Our "professional" tiler was in a hurry to finish on a very warm day, off to play golf.
He grouted very quickly (using "Andrews grey gorut with flxi additive). (3 hours to finish the whole job, polished...

I have been called to a job - ensuite ground floor shower wet room. The existing floor tiles have developed hairline cracks. Having removed the tiles (300x300) it appears they were laid on a levelling compound which failed to bond to the ashphalt below. The ashphalt surface exposed is clean...

I met a lady today, i did a kitchen floor for last year. She told me one of the tiles cracked when she stood on it. Her washing machine had leaked, when she was on holiday. It was after this the tile cracked. Could the leak cause this to happen.
Cheers, Edd
I’ve got a customer that had his kitchen tiled only 2 years ago. The tiles at the back of the cooker are cracked and discoloured due to the heat generated by their massive 6 ring gas cooker, and the grease from cooking. At the time he asked the tiler for epoxy grout, but the tiler just grouted...

I have a bathroom and kitchen to retile and have 2 questions -
1. I'm not retiling the kitchen floor but there is a crack which looks like floor movement - is there a product that can be used to 'mend' the crack?
2. The wall tiles - most on stud walls with small areas on solid walls - what is...
