Hi guys, i'm about to put up 490mm x 340mm x 9mm ceramic tiles on a wall, using mapei super flexible adhesive. Should i use a 6mm trowel at 45 degrees ie.- 3mm bed or should i use a thicker bed.
The substrates are plasterboard and plasterboard that has a plaster skim.
Thanks for any advice.

Great site btw.

Pesonally i would use a bigger notch...8mm min.......You probs will not get sufficent coverage on the tile with a 6mm..

Only other trowel is a 10mm, would that be too much or should i go and buy a 8mm trowel?

10mm will fine....you will be bedding it back to about 3mm anyway...by the time the ribs collpase..
