On a job with some porcelain tiles and they're all covered in a thin wax that needs buffing off to give it polished look. lots of elbow grease required anyone know if white spirit would take it off easier? or any other solution for that matter

Both above possible , I start with intensive cleaner a lighter cleaner( light alkaline)

With any floor I think it is important to resolve the full removal of any form of wax on one unlaid tile before laying the floor to confirm it will lift.
I would check with supplier if removing this before grouting on the main floor, as this layer may aid the grout release .any pre cleaning may also remove a pre/nano seal as well as a transit or fabrication wax ( more generally on polished, satin finishes)
