Hi. I'm looking to take a course in tiling which may specialise in Victorian floors. I am looking to repair original Victorian floors, and possibly install reproduction Victorian/encaustic floors. Can anyone recommend a course which would help me? I think it's important I know how these floors were laid and can lay one if necessary.
Many thanks
Jane

No actual requests yet, and I'm actually more interested in conserving original Victorian floors. When doing this I'll probably have to repair/replace a few areas and really want to know the best way of doing this.

Sorry, not heard of a course that does this.
I am due to be laying my first Victorian Geometric floor in a few weeks or so. Will let you know how I go on

That sounds a fairly specialist job to be fair. If you're fresh to the business, then I'd perhaps start off with a stone course to get an understanding of the laying and fixing/treating etc. Then I guess from there on it's a case of each floor restoration requiring it's own type of repair so each job would be different and a course perhaps couldn't provide the training you would need.

If i'm on the right lines here.

I doubt there's much requirement for geometric tiling these days. It isn't your standard tilers kind of work.
